May 02 12 - BACK WITH NEW MATERIAL IN ASBURY PARK 5/23
After a brief (and ongoing) plunge into madness, I've decided to show my grimy face in public and try out some new songs I've been writing. I told myself not to write for a while and you know what happens when you tell a kid not to do something.
Those of you in the NJ/NY/PA area, come join me for a few spring cocktails at The Saint in Asbury Park, NJ on Weds, May 23. I'd honestly like to see you. (For the rest of you, never fear, I'm cooking up something, or trying to.)
Apr 16 12 - HIATUS? SABBATICAL? BREAK?
Which sounds fancier? Sorry for being incommunicado for a while. I do this weird thing from time to time where I just live my life privately and forget to report to the public. Oops. I'm off doing other non-music related projects. For how long? I don't know. Check back for updates. Sign up to receive email news. I'll be in touch. Thank you you [sic].

Dec 29 11 - VIDEO INTERVIEW WITH THE UNDERGROUND PLUG
During a stop on the Good Old War tour, I had a chance to talk to The Underground Plug in the basement of Maxwell's in Hoboken, NJ. We spoke about the new album, writing songs, deadlines and more. Watch the full interview and the live performance.
Dec 28 11 - V.E. ON 2011 BEST-OF LISTS
Aide Memoire has been named the #1 album of 2011 on BlowUpRadio's Top 100 list. Meanwhile, the Star Ledger was kind enough to include my name on their list of "Things We Loved" alongside other Jersey natives like Real Estate, The Front Bottoms, Nicole Atkins, and The Feelies. Pop Break listed AM as one of the best albums of the year alongside much bigger acts like Fleet Foxes, Dawes and Peter, Bjorn and John, calling the album "emotionally heavy...with a unique vibe all its own." And over at JerseyBeat.com, we got two mentions: "Galoshes On A Sunny Day" made the list of Top 20 songs and Aide Memoire made the list of Top 10 NJ Albums. Thank you so much for giving a shit about what I/we (try to) do.
Dec 16 11 - SHOW/ALBUM REVIEW IN STAR-LEDGER
Read a rave review by Tris McCall about our recent performance at Maxwell's opening up for Good Old War on their Northeastern tour. Here's a flattering line about Aide Memoire: "The album sounds live, titanic and often breathtaking in its raw beauty."
Dec 07 11 - AIDE MEMOIRE INCLUDED IN NJ.COM'S HOLIDAY GIFTS
"When you ponder presents for family and friends this holiday season, why not think local?" says NJ.com writer Jim Testa. Of course, we agree. Aide Memoire was one of the albums included on the list along with titles by The Feelies and The Front Bottoms.
Dec 02 11 - VEERIES INTERVIEW WITH THE CORRESPONDENCE
The Veeries join me for an interview with The Correspondence about acting, social media, & what I'd do if Radiohead shit in a cup. Fascinating. Read here.
Nov 29 11 - BRAND NEW SONG FOR SALE JUST $0.49
Val Emmich & The Veeries recorded a new song called "Hard To Hurt Someone" live at the Pigeon Club in Hoboken, NJ on a snowy October day in 2011. The song is now for sale as a digital download at valemmich.bandcamp.com. Proceeds from sales for the first two weeks go to benefit the studio, which was damaged by the hurricane that tore up the East Coast earlier this year. Watch the video of the band recording the song on YouTube.
