Album Listening Party

My new album “Here Comes The Dark” comes out 5/16 on Bandcamp and 5/23 on all other platforms. On Sunday, May 18 I’ll be hosting a free listening party. I’ll take you through each song and share stories about how they came to be. I’ll also open up my recording sessions to give you a peek into how the songs were created. IN CONVERSATION: FREE VIRTUAL EVENT

Join young adult authors Val Emmich, Jeff Garvin, A.S. King, and Lissa Price along with Back Room hosts Karen Dionne and Hank Phillippi Ryan.

The Back Room is an opportunity for relaxed conversation with authors. Each online event starts with a short introduction to a panel of 4 authors. The audience is then divided into 4 breakout rooms where they remain for the rest of the program while the authors visit each room in turn. Everyone’s video is turned on and their mics are unmuted, allowing for informal, face-to-face discussion. What’s more, breakout sessions are never recorded. What’s said in The Back Room stays in The Back Room!

VIRTUAL SNOWSTORM

The two characters in my new book Maybe We're Electric are forced to spend a night together during a snowstorm. How would you like to hang with me on Friday November 19 for a "virtual snowstorm?"

Here's the idea. Grab your favorite snack and drink. We'll discuss Maybe We're Electric in book club fashion. I'll perform some songs and play a few movie scenes connected to the book. We'll pretend it's snowing outside our windows. Sound like fun?

A recommendation: Read the book beforehand! This way we don't have to worry about spoiling the story for anyone. (If you don't have time to finish the book, we still want you there; just read as much as you can.)

Concert for #HudsonGives

Tune in to this Facebook Live performance to benefit #HudsonGives, a 24-hour online fundraising campaign that unites Hudson County (New Jersey) in support of local causes. I’m hoping to raise some money specifically for the public charter school that both of my kids are lucky enough to attend, The Ethical Community Charter School (TECCS). It’s a great place where diversity, social justice and an ethics-based curriculum are practiced and taught.

That didn’t happen. There were 50 different song selections revealing a wide range of tastes and deep-cut appreciation. Thank you. It makes me feel like I'm doing something right.
